Performance at Anarchy In The Garden, the Festival of Women in Experimental Arts
Developed in the summer of 2023 with Butoh dancer Yuko Kaseki, this performance piece was our response to the name of the festival. Anarcho Noise Butoh as titled, our aim was to explore the political side of Noise and Butoh, addressing current social issues from the perspective of women of colour.
Body that disobeys, body that is a rebel.
Our main gadgets for this piece was an aluminium mesh and BOSS pedal bra.
The festival proposes alternative ways of being in the world, fostering sensitivity, responsiveness, openness, and vulnerability, creating a real-world community of female creators that through various experimental art and communication forms is capable of holding a nourishing space for artists and audiences alike.
