Das Beuys

100 years Joseph Beuys: What would be when he would have been a woman? Or without a gender? Women’s voices, men’s voices. Women’s art? Men’s art? Or art and a snail voice? How many pockets Beuys's vest had? What's in Joseph's pocket? Memories, secrets, and clues of provocation? Or conversation/communication for heating each other?

What’s in our pocket?

Maybe they are filled with some coins, spears, pieces of notes, coloured pens, small stones and leaves, for invisible future made of imagination is packed. This body is a sculpture, my words that spin memories.
Every day every hour every minute every second my body is transforming with the contents of the pocket.
Chemical reaction by heat and moisture, fermentation, colour change, rot, drying.
Empty pockets hold the wind and keep expanding. Imagine and create sky in palm.
Object and object, people and people, words and words, forms will appear, bring in life, unravel mysteries, create myth, hand down stories… mine, and ours. A dance performance.

Empty pockets blowing in the wind. Things become things, people become people, words become words. Forms appear, come alive, riddles are solved, stories are born, retold. A dance performance.

Five resident performers of Theater Thikwa, Heidi Bruck, Karol Golebiowski, Corinna Heidepriem, Torsten Holzapfel, Konstantin Langenick join guest choreographer and performer Yuko Kaseki and guest composer and performer Tot Onyx on stage to explore what Beuys would have in mind if he were still with us today.

Founded in 1990, Theater Thikwa is an independent theatre that aims to promote the joint artistic work of disabled and non-disabled artists. It observes the development of social and aesthetic issues and responds to them with its artistic work.
