Berlin Atonal announces the full details for its expanded art programme taking place as part of this year’s festival edition. Third Surface is the newest structural experiment from Berlin Atonal following its landmark exhibitions Metabolic Rift and Universal Metabolism. Embedded within the festival as a hybrid exhibition format - part salon, part performance space - where artworks, music and experience unfold in dialogue with their setting and with each other. Evoking the improvised nocturnal venues of Weimar Berlin, Third Surface proposes a model for how nightlife might be reimagined: beyond the logic of hedonism, apart from the language of retreat. The works shown act not as declarations but as cues. ⁠

Participating artists include Kristoffer Akselbo, Nino Bulling, Billy Bultheel, Roberto Cuoghi, Steinar Haga Kristensen, Tanja Al Kayyali, Bill Kouligas & Niklas Bildstein Zaar, Joanna Rajkowska, Mouneer Al Shaarani, Tot Onyx, Ran Zhang, Basma Al-Sharif, Ben Russell & Guillaume Cailleau, Kamal Aljafari, Noor Abed, and Nelson Makengo. Musical contributions come from Chuquimamani-Condori aka DJ E, John T. Gast, Gavsborg with Kat 7, Tóke  & groundsound, Lechuga Zafiro & Verraco, DJ Marcelle, Moin, YHWH Nailgun and Richard Sides.⁠
